Lamide Osinkolu

Lamide founded Practice Weekend to help Christians move from hearing about fasting to practising it with Scripture, structure, humility and community.

More than two decades of practice

Lamide began practising Christian fasting and prayer at age 17 and has continued for more than two decades. Practice Weekend grows from that first-hand experience: fasting is learned not through performance or theory alone, but through careful practice grounded in prayer.

Church service and teaching

He has served in various church leadership capacities and participated in a church plant in Omaha, Nebraska. He currently serves as a teacher in his local church, where he contributes to the teaching and formation of fellow Christians.

Why he created Practice Weekend

Lamide saw a practical gap between Christians hearing sermons about fasting and knowing how to begin. Practice Weekend offers a simple Friday-to-Sunday structure in which participants can learn together, ask questions, pray, read Scripture and reflect on what they experience.

Teaching in public

Lamide also teaches through the official Practice Weekend YouTube channel, extending the same emphasis on practical, Scripture-centred Christian formation.

Teaching approach

Lamide’s work is grounded in long-term personal practice, church service and Scripture. His emphasis is practical: helping Christians begin carefully, remain prayerful and pursue spiritual formation rather than performance.
