What is America’s Prayer Line?
America’s Prayer Line is a call-and-text prayer service operated by Practice Weekend. It gives you a simple way to ask another Christian to pray with you when you need encouragement, direction or support in prayer.
You do not need to attend a particular church, know the right words or explain everything. Tell us only what you are comfortable sharing. Our role is to listen, pray and point you toward God—not to judge you or promise a particular outcome.

Public sharing requires a separate and explicit yes from you. SMS is not designed for highly sensitive records, passwords or financial information.

What is the prayer line phone number?
Call or text America’s Prayer Line at 1-877-417-7729 (1-877-417-PRAY). It is a U.S. toll-free number operated by Practice Weekend.
Is this a 24-hour prayer line?
No. You can send a text at any hour, but live answers and replies are not available 24 hours a day. If your call is not answered, send a text and a team member can respond when available.
Can I text my prayer request instead of calling?
Yes. Text your request to 1-877-417-7729. You may write as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing.
Does it cost anything?
Practice Weekend does not charge you to request prayer. Your phone carrier’s normal calling, message or data rates may still apply.
Do I need to belong to Practice Weekend or a church?
No. The prayer line is open to anyone who would like Christian prayer. You do not need to be part of our ministry or a particular church.
Who receives my prayer request?
Your request is received by authorized members of the Practice Weekend team. We treat it as private and do not publish your name, message or story without separate permission.
What should I say when I call or text?
Start simply: “Please pray with me about…” You can include your first name, but you do not have to. God does not require polished words, and neither do we.
Is this an emergency or professional counseling service?
No. America’s Prayer Line offers prayer, not emergency response or professional counseling. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services where you are.
